great article Ms. Wallace.

"I’m a graphic designer. I don’t consider myself a graphic artist and certainly not a fine artist"

that is right in my wheelhouse.

Hi Christina,

Thanks for your comment! I think you're right that people who love their work are the ones who get places. I'm guessing that's due to being passionate about what they do.

But, even when we're in a job or a field that we love, if it's the same thing every single day, that passion can get lost way too easily.

So thanks for your post and encouragement, and I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone this week - either personally or professionally - just do one thing out of the norm...and let me know how you fared.

I have always firmly believed that if you do what you love, you will succeed. Oh I think it definitely takes some business savvy, but I've seen time and time again that people who aren't in their line of work just to punch a time clock are the ones who get places. Just because you love something doesn't mean it won't sometimes get uncomfortable, though, and I applaud your embrace of something new, of stretching yourself. I know that I procrastinate like crazy when there is something before me that doesn't feel very comfortable, and I do think it is very useful to encourage each other to take the bull by the horns!
